This picture is familiar to many of you, ofcourse!! who could forget such an angelic little crying baby face? This is a very old picture, i remember that i was always staring at this picture and asking myself who is this little child? and why is he always crying?
So, why is this child crying? and what’s the story behind this tears?
Maybe you think by now that this picture is a normal one, but concentrate on the child is face and his tears, all that lies behind this photo is a feeling of weakness, fear and an endless pain.
Lately, i found a page which was talking about the story of this photo in an art site, so finally i found out why this child is crying and i thought i should share it with you.
Who draw the crying baby portrait?
Painting of the Italian artist named “Giovanni Bragolin” we do not know much about him,except that he lived in Florence and draw a series of paintings of beautiful crying childrens aged between the second and eighth ..And he putted them under the title of ”crying baby”.
This particular painting is the most famous paintings of the group, especially the child with the broad eyes, and his tears flowing on his cheeks.
It is clear that the child feels sad, and it can affect human emotions deeply.
But this painting has another story, a stranger one..
In 1985, The Sun newspaper published a series of investigations of incidents of the outbreak of a mysterious fire where the hero was this particular painting!
The painting was popular in Britain, where it was hung in homes and offices as its deep humanitarian content.
But the newspapers linked the painting to some incidents of a fire that blew out in some apartments and everything was consumed except for this painting.
Many many stories were available around the crying portrait, as most of the places where this portrait was hanged, a big fire came out in this places out of nowhere and it didn’t stop until nothing left except for this portrait and without any harm.
But the story didn’t stop here, as The Sun Newspaper burned thousands of this portraits and even people got rid of this little guy, and this picture became a sign of omen.
But that didn’t affected everyone, as those whom used to see this picture and believed in the deep emotion lied behind it, and the name “The Crying Boy” even became the name of a site’s domain, and that site contained many pictures of the crying baby collection.
People asked a lot whether the crying boy in the picture is real or not?
It was claimed that the painter saw a little crying boy who was the only survivor of a fire catastrophe, as the reason for his tears was that he saw his parents dying infront of him.
So the painter started to draw many pictures, trying to describe the boy is pain and weakness.But after a while the painter of this picture died in mysterious fire, so they thought after that, that this picture brings misfortune.
